Individual Therapy
Your Child's Story, Your Child's Growth
In individual therapy we work with your child one-on-one. Together we will try to get a clear view of the issues that confront your child. Depending on your child’s needs, we do this through play (drawing, role-playing, drama) and conversation. For children it is very natural to show their feelings in a creative and non-verbal way. It often feels safer to them than using words to describe what is going in their heads.
Over the course of these sessions your child will gain insight into him or herself, will become able to work through issues, learn new social and coping skills and become more rooted in their own inner strength. Your child’s outlook on life will become more confident and light-hearted.
Assertiveness Training
Learning together to stand up for yourself
Is your child being bullied? Or is your child the bully? Does your child feel insecure?
In a group of four to six children, we will practice dealing with situations your child finds difficult in his or her daily life.
Do you dare to say no? Do you dare to get angry? Do you dare to be yourself?
Through conversation and role-playing your child learns to take his or her feelings, thoughts and behavior seriously and act accordingly. We also address the issues of self-image and self-esteem. New behavioral possibilities are practiced extensively. Your child will acquire skills to feel more at ease at home, at school, with friends, etc.
Children like sharing this learning experience with peers. They recognize themselves in one another and find support with each other. It also makes this challenging process more fun.
