Child Therapy

Intervening at an early stage

Naturally, you want to help your child when he or she is struggling, no matter the reason behind it. But sometimes this might require a little outside assistance. Turning to a therapist may seem like a big step but is often the right one to take.

Because we are independent but concerned outsiders, children feel comfortable sharing their feelings and thoughts with us. Children like to talk about what is going on in their world and can sense that we are genuinely interested in their stories, views and worries.

Our expertise allows us to help in resolving situations that might feel out of your – and your child’s - control. The earlier a child’s problems are addressed, the better his or her chance is of developing a strong sense of self-esteem – the basis for a happy, fulfilling life.

The Child, the Parents & the School

The aim is the same

Every child is unique. And because every one of them has specific and diverse needs and expectations, we work with insights and skills from different therapeutic approaches. We choose the best method based on the situation and the child’s needs. By combining traditional methods with new developments we create a form of therapy that connects to your child’s specific circumstance.

Therapy should be accessible, open and understandable for both parent and child. A practical approach and a positive outlook are essential ingredients of successful therapy. Our primary focus is on finding possible solutions rather than on analyzing the ‘problem’. Our individual or group sessions are safe environments within which children can freely express themselves and tackle troubling issues. Together we work on gaining insight, coping with traumatic experiences, building inner strength and learning new social and behavioral skills. We al so offer tips and techniques that can help your child on a day-to-day basis establish new opportunities in his or her life.
